How to Clean Up and Speed Up my Macbook Pro? I find my Macbook is getting slower and slower, I think there may be lots of rubish in the system but I do not know how to clean up my Mac. So, anyway to do so and speed up my Mac? Thanks for your help.
As your system has soldered RAM & SSD storage there is very little you can do to enhance it. Keeping 1/4 of free space on your storage can help. I would move to an external drive any stuff you really don’t need day to day.Limit how many apps are concurrently running. You might want to get a RAM cleaner app to help recover unused RAM or just to monitor whats available.I would also get a good anti-Virus & Malware app.
Hi ,back up all your data and just do a factory resset and it will work faster
There are several ways to clean up your Mac:
- Sort all files by size and delete old large files.
- Use third-party software for cleanup. For example, I recently used the iMyMac Mac Cleaner software.
- Empty your trash can
- Uninstall the application you are not using
- Clean up huge iTunes backups for iPhone or iPad
- Clear temporary files
- Find and delete duplicate files
- Delete language files
- Clean up large attachments in Mac Mail
- Clean up the download folder
- Use the storage tools in macOS High Sierra
