I have an asus zenbook ux534, and my mousepad has been working on and off for the past 3 or so months. Until now, pressing the f6 key (the cycle touchpad between enabled, disabled, and screenpad) showed all three options, but now it is only showing the touchpad is disabled option. Does anyone know if this is a hardware issue, or how to fix this?
Hi, Check in BIOS > Advanced > Internal Pointing Device to make sure that it is enabled. To get into BIOS press F2 during POST i.e. after the laptop has started but before it boots into Windows - when the Asus splash screen is on the display. If it is what is the status of the touchpad in Device Manager? In Win 10 press the Win key + x key (both together) and click on the Device Manager link. When in Device manager go to Human Interface Devices (HID) > Asus Precision Touchpad. If there is a red cross next to the entry right click on the entry and click on Enable and check if it now works OK. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the entry right click on the entry and click on Update drivers and follow the prompts. You need to be online for this to work. Update (03/04/2022) Hi, So presumably it is working OK now? Very strange that it isn’t in BIOS. Here’s an image taken from the user manual from this webpage showing the location in BIOS (it is the same manual for an UX534 FT, FTC & FAC)

Hi, Have you tried opening up your computer to check the connection? If that is seated then next maybe try a reseat of the connection to ensure the device is properly connected If all advice from other community members fail (Chances are one of them will be able to help you), A fresh install of windows is always a viable solution. Would you mind if i can grab the model of the laptop you have as i may be able to find some troubleshooting steps on how to help fix this? Kind regards, Nick P
