Hello everyone, I am new in the forum but I have already used the website to fix (or tried to) some devices. I would like to ask some help for my old laptop Asus F52Q (which apparently does not appear in the list of devices). When powered up, the laptop makes two mild bip in sequence and than does not progress. The LEDs are on, the fan starts after a while, but the laptop does not continue to boot; sometimes it remains on, some others it closes by itself. I have tried the following things: Remove the battery and run with the power supply (not the issue)Attach an external screen (still black)Removed the ram (no warnings appearing)Changed the CR2032 battery (no difference)Remove the HDD (still nothing) One weird thing is that about a month after the problem appeared, I tried to open the back part of the laptop and close it again and then it worked - the screen came on and I could boot the operating system, but after few minutes it just shut off again. I am afraid that the motherboard is gone, but I would like to be sure. Is there any way to test it? Any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks a lot for the help!:)

Hi @pagandhi , What do you mean when you say “Remove the battery and run with the power supply (not the issue)”? Does it work OK with the charger connected but no battery? After you removed the CR2032 RTC battery did you press and hold the Power button operated for a full 30 seconds, you didn’t say? I think that an Asus laptop 2 beep error code is a BIOS software problem and given that there are no beep error codes when the ram is removed then it must be happening earlier on in the POST(Power on Self Test) sequence. Try doing a full power refresh by disconnecting the charger (if connected), disconnecting the main battery and also removing the RTC battery. Then pressing the power button for 30 seconds and then release. Reassemble the laptop i.e. rtc battery, main battery, close the laptop and connect the charger If it starts OK there may be an error message regarding the date and time. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once the date and time have been corrected the message won’t appear the next time that the laptop is started.
