My brother was on my 3ds and he put the cartridge in the wrong way and broke the slot. So I thought I could fix it. I replaced the slot, but I broke off one of the latches to the flex cable. I thought it would be a good idea to put glue right on the flex cable and I made new problems. My top screen is now black and when I turn it on the buttons would randomly send me into applications can someone help?
I did the same thing man but I tried to use scotch tape to keep the ribbon cable down and it kind of worked for awhile at least.I would try and take the glue off with some alcohol and try taping it. I looked for you a new latch but I couldn’t find one anywhere on ebay. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help good luck my friend DS’s hate being repaired lol.
Ok maybe I’m just old school (I learned how to solder with lead and iron at a young age) – but what’s with “glue”? I’m seeing it used in major electronics now and I’m HOPING they have proper soldered connections underneath. You can’t just use hot glue because plastic is an insulator and if it gets between the two contacts then well – you don’t have anymore contact. Electronics these days however are so tiny it would be hard to use old school soldering techniques. You’d most likely have to have a micro-soldering station to pull off the job and those aren’t cheap to come by. In the end it really is less frustrating to just buy a new one.
