My Macbook suddenly started making 3 beep sounds. After I identified it, my lower RAM slot got damaged. Each time i put memory into it, my macbook started beeping. Anybody know how to fix RAM Slot ? I don’t wanna spend a lot money to replace the logic board. Thank you
So I assume if you leave the second ram stick out the computer boots? Try the ram stick from slot 1 in slot 2 and leave slot 1 empty. Does it still beep? If not then the stick from slot 2 is bad
Try using one stick at a time in slot one if the MAC doesn’t work with one then make that one as bad. If it works with both then your second ram slot might be bad. If that is the case then the only way of repairing it would be replacing the Ram Slot but being as that is probably a 2M level soldering job it would cost too much to repair it. You could instead just only use the one slot but put the max ram that, that computer recognizes in that one ram slot. That would probably the cheapest fix. But that would be only half the max RAM that the computer could see if both slot were working.
