I have an iPhone 8 which I got around Christmas time and today out of the blue, my sound doesn’t work, I tried every method restarting it absolutely everything and nothing works, I plugged in earphones, no sound either, I had contacted Apple and they said a battery replacement might help it but I thought that just sounded silly? When I even press the volume up and down buttons the slider doesn’t appear showing the volume going up. any help would be appreciated
Lol @apple battery advice After performing all suggestions above if you still don’t have a favorable result, try placing a call while on the call check to see if the loudspeaker button greyed out. If it is you may have a board issue (audio ic chip)
Glad you decided to seek help elsewhere rather than take Apple’s advice. They have a tendency to bend the truth. Anyways has your phone ever been dropped in water?
Are you on the latest software? If not then update. Make sure your phone isn’t on vibrate. Try asking Siri to put the volume higher, if that works it means that you have an issue with your buttons on your phone.
