My laptop’s audio jack stopped working within a week of purchase. I live in a very isolated 3rd world country, therefore i have no access to repair shops, let alone Asus shops. When i plug in headphone, it gives a notification to ask whether it’s a headset or speaker. When i play sound, there’s nothing, sometimes there’s very little but noticeable noise. I have taken a look at the back and here’s a picture. I unplugged the connection from the board with audiojack in it and plugged it back in.
Hi @khboldbaatar , If the audio socket is damaged internally it cannot be repaired, it has to be replaced. I cannot see any markings on the socket itself which would help to identify it so that the configuration of the connections was known so finding an exact replacement will be difficult. You may have to replace the whole IO board which has the socket on it. Search online for 90NR01E0-R10020. This is the part number for the IO board Example only to show the cost of the board, there are other suppliers online that may suit you better.
