I recently dropped my iPhone X in a puddle and, despite the water resistance, it suffered water damage. The iPhone will not turn on at all, and when I connect it to my computer, the device does not show up. This may be a reach but is there any way for me to recover the data from the phone at this point? I had some things on there that were really important that I would like to get back if possible.
The only way to get the data of your phone is get it to boot. You will need to send it to a reputable repair shop that offers data recovery.
You’ll need to take the phone apart (display, logic board, battery), clean the board and connectors with isopropyl alcohol, and use a soft brush to lift any corrosion off the parts. Do this and you have some chance of getting your files off the phone. Get a new battery, clean your Dock port and try again with connection to PC. With any luck your problem is only a dead battery.
