Suddenly my headphones stop work on wireless mode, i guess is the battery, some of the pulse mode have same problem and is fix just removing the battery and plugging again, so I want to give it a chance cuz the Sony service here say they don’t want to fix it, I just need to know how to remove the ear cups to can acces to the bolts. If somebody know about I will really appreciate it.

It’s actually very simple. I was trying to fix a similar problem on my pair, after doing a complete tear down, figuring it out as i went, i figured it out. Simply twist the ear pad on the right ear cup off, then remove the three small Phillips screws. After that you have direct access to the battery and can unplug, and replace at will

Hey folks, I was looking to upgrade the battery on my Elite Gold and came across this thread. I thought I would share what I did with you. It just so happened that I started this because I wanted to upgrade the battery in the PS4 controller. I bought a 2000mah battery from http://www.adafruit.com/product/2011. I used this in my PS4 controller and then took my PS4 controller battery and used that to upgrade my Elite Gold headset with amazing results. I did this last night so I can’t say for sure what the battery life will be but it’s definitely better from my anecdotal observations. To use the controller battery in the headset, you have to pry off the outer case like in the picture. Be careful not to damage the tiny circuit-board. This actually fits perfectly in the headset once it’s out. I put some double sided tape on the back before installing it into the headset. Worked like a charm. By doing this I triple the battery capacity of the Headset. The battery is a couple of years old so it probably doesn’t hold the same charge anymore but it’s better for sure. Hope this helps someone.

What size(mAh) is the battery inside of them Cody, and is there a bigger replacement for them that you know of?

Thanks for your answer pal, actually I tried and is more easy than what looks like, I was becoming crazy to remove the earpad but is so easy like the partner say, just twist it and is open so fast, I try to replace the battery but looks like nothing work, still not working. Anyway thank you so much for the help

Thanks for this! Sounds easy enough. Looks like I will have to replace the battery soon, it’s not holding the charge like it used to. I maybe get 2 1/2 hours out of this - at best.

here i explain in details in this video :) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9iu3mWK

Hi i looking this type of guide but of new gold hedset / how open change battery https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explor

The Sony Platinum headset does not twist on the ear to get the separation. only the Sony gold’s that fold twisted the ear the Platinum that folds does not twist at the ears I’ve had a hard time getting mine off I had to stop because I didn’t want to break them

Hi, I had the same problem but when I looked into changing the batteries I discovered that rather doing that, it would work out just as cheap to buy a mid range set of BT headphones every two years. Like everyone here, I would rather change the battery but when its not financially viable I baulk at the logic. John Burns
