’’ I have 3 years old Asus X53E(K53E) laptop snow white i got many scratches on the white surface of laptop body , so i decided to change all its body , i know how to disassemble my these laptop but i am having problem in top case where Elan touchpad board is stuck with the top case. well i never tried to take that touchpad with screwdriver forcely . i need a guide whether its possible to remove the touchpad or not.Or it comes with a new top case that i am gonna buy ?''
I know this was asked a while ago, but it’s hopefully worth an answer still. The touchpad sensor is held in place by some kind of (I think) capacitive glue or tape. I found that I could remove it with a sharp modelling knife and a great deal of care. I angled the knife so the tip would dig into the case rather than the circuit board to avoid damaging the capacitive surface of the touchpad.
