My Maytag MVW7232HWO washing machine recently died. The diagnostics led to needing to replace the main control board. This board is potted in some sort of soft gel material and components are not accessible save the large power supply caps. Maytag will gladly sell me a new board for $500. I was wondering if anyone in the community has taken on one of these potted PWBAs and found a process to free the components.

This board may have a conformal coating of polyurethane to become moisture and vibration resistant. Here’s some background info to understand how difficult to near impossible attempting to remove conformal coating for repairing a circuit board; https://blog.paryleneconformalcoating.co….
