I had an Xbox One with motherboard problems last year and because I didn’t knew that you can fix that kind of stuff (now I know you can at least try), I just simply bought a motherboard from the ifixit store and replaced it. I don’t have that xbox anymore but still have the motherboard with the paired optical drive and it goes against every fiber of my being to just throw it in the trash, is there something I can do to make it work again and try to recover some of the money I spent? (sorry if my english is bad)
With the right equipment and time, anything can be repaired (unless there is a hole in the board…). Trying to erpair a singular board without the rest of the unit will be tricky at best. What was the original problem? This too will determine whether or not the repair is feasible. If there are clear parts that are damaged, replacing them should be fairly easy. Just replacing the known bad parts may not resolve the problem unless it is known that these are the only problem. There may be hidden issues that caused these parts to fail that must also be addressed. The bottom line is that your question is not easily answered. There are too many factors not known. Hope this helps, Dan
Hi I’ve damaged the motherboard on my xbox one x. Removed components to add thermal compound and by prising the silver cross held by clipped screws I can see I’ve have broken a piece of soldering on the other side. Is there a way I can repair this as my xbox wont turn on, it beeps and thats it? I have solder and solder gun. This is what happens when you follow one youtube guy that doesn’t do it properly
does any one know what this chip is on xbox one x motherboard because mine has blown trying to find out what it is
