Hello,When I was upgrading the RAM on my GL703G and had to remove the HDD to place 2 new sticks. Somehow the ribbon cable broke when reinstalling it. The connector looks to go underneath the motherboard. Any advice on how to reinstall the replacement cable without having to remove the entire motherboard would be highly appreciated.
I’m pretty sure you need to remove the bottom casing to actually get to the connector that holds the ribbon cable to the motherboard. Although you maybe luck & it may actually sit under the keyboard. Remove all of the screws on the underside & then gently separate the top housing that has the keyboard enclosed. The other side of the ribbon should be visible then. I know this isn’t the same laptop but it is going to be similar, Addison Thomas has done a tutorial on a GL55 ROG keyboard takedown. Use that as a rough guide.
