I recently was trying to replace my hard drive and severed the LED light from the infrared sensor. I am having a heck of a time trying to replace this component. Is there any tricks to removing the LED power light and IR sensor? Thanks, William
You know, I was asked this very question a while ago and endeavored to replace that part. With a small stack of junk cases, I did not manage to successfully replace any of them. They are just situated in the case with plastic reinforcement to not be removed! Replacement would involve re-melting small plastic pieces together, which isn’t feasible. Your best bet is to replace the lower case. Sorry! At least you know it’s not just you.
well, that happens when you do things you are not qualified to. But how will you learn but by trying? Keep up the good work, don’t get discouraged - in the end you WILL win!
