Chosen Solution
So I got an iphone x with a broken screen from a friend of mine. The iphone wont show any sign of life but he assured me there was no water damage done to the phone. He dropped the phone without the case causing the screen to be really damaged. I would love to order a new screen for this iphone but how do I know if the screen is worth replacing? Because if I invest the money for a new screen and it still does not work I would lose the money put in to the screen. Is there a way to figure out if it is just the screen that is broken or if the whole phone is damaged?
Hook up the phone to your computer and iTunes. If it talks to the phone I would take a chance.
Also check if it is not Icloud Locked ( or maybe your friend will unlock it ) otherwise u can’t use it afther you have replaced the lcd screen.
