I have conflicting info on this F551MAV-DB02-B on how much ram it can use/maximum. Crucial says 12G, and that it only has one slot and that the ram IS removable. First, is it removable/replaceable? Second, just how high can I go with ram, I’m guessing just an 8G stick, which would improve this system a lot. Third, just how/where/what do I have to remove to get to the ram to replace it? FYI, Crucial has this to say about ram: Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM CT8G4SFS824AConfiguration ID: CT9393524 DDR4-2400 • CL=17 • NON-ECC • SODIMM • 260-pin • 1.2V • 1Rx8 • PC4-19200 Thanks for any help/insight you can provide.
Those are really good questions, an easy way to asertain the information you require is to locate your chipset information. The chipset on the motherboard determines a lot of things, one of those things being the amout of RAM that you can install and utilize. There is also a helpful program called CPU-Z which will give you a lot of useful information. But, if you are feeling brave, you can attempt to remove the bottom cover and locate the RAM yourself. Just by looking you should be able determine if it is soldered or not.
