When I turn on my xbox all I get is a black screen. I understand it could be a number of things from an hdmi port to the hard drive but is there a way for me to figure out what is wrong with it exactly before I go tearing it apart?
You could try a different hdmi cable on a different tv. You also could try moving the cable to see if you get any output. If not you could look at the port to see if there is anything damaged or broken inside. If not, there could be an internal issue with the port, the graphics could have died, or the harddrive is bad, although i do think you would get some output if that was the case.
