So, right above the power button, there’s an area on the speaker grid that has somehow gotten pushed up (think like a dent, but reversed.) and is somewhat cracking because of this. It seems to have gotten a bit worse.. I have no idea what could have caused it, and I need help fixing it, please!
Where is the power button on your PC? My only idea for what could cause that pushing out of the speaker grid would be a swelling internal battery due to degradation/failure of the battery.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XuJ0rgS… shows the battery to be up near the front lip of the laptop, right under the trakpad. Does it feel as if there is any pressure in that area or does that seem near where your problem area is?
If it does indeed have a swollen battery, there is a small protentional for the battery to fail and for a risk of a fire to occur, exaggerated by continual use of the charger or heat from any source. While I am just going off of a brief description from the internet with no visual reference at all, I would advise seeking a local repair shop in your area and having them look at it to confirm the damage is not related to a swollen battery or replace the battery if needed.
