I have an HP Pavilion DV6 7030 se. The issue is its throwing CMOS battery error every bootup and I thought the battery is already drained. I continue on using it though. Today, I thought of replacing the battery and when I opened the latch at the bottom of the laptop, the CMOS battery is missing. I thought of opening the whole laptop only to found out that it is missing. I googled what the battery should look like and looks like its a battery module that will need to be plugged somewhere in the mother board. I cannot find any plug where it should be. I would request where should I plug the CMOS battery or any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, Here’s the maintenance and service guide, taken from the support webpage for the laptop. Go to p.62 to view the procedure to remove/replace the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery (aka CMOS battery, BIOS battery). You say that you have a replacement battery but just in case it is not the correct one, the HP part # for the battery is 682091-001 (supplier example only to show image of part)

I just checked HP’s Website and YouTube. I don’t know if it‘s the same for all of the computers, but the CMOS socket should look like this:

It is the grey colored bracket.
