HP Recovery Drive D: full and Windows RE Tools drive E: full and in red. Referring to my HP Pavilion - 15-cs0064st. I do not store anything on either of these drives, only C:, my OS. Further more these drives are protected from being used, at least on this HP. There’s a lot of info on how to fix this. BUT what I want to know how did all these files get there in the first place. I’m assuming this is why it won’t boot, only into troubleshooting mode/ recovery environment etc…. I have no restore point to use, reset and refresh do not work. I cannot remove updates. All I have to boot from is a USB drive OR command prompt. I used command prompt to get all my files off with notepad.exe. All I want to know is should I try to fix my 2 drives that are full first or should I just reboot from a USB and it’ll fix itself. I don’t want to lose my recovery drive if possible or does it even matter? THANKS ROB

Those Drives came like that from factory, and basically they have the tools for reinstalling and fixing you computer, also they have the nice GUI Boot Test, and in my personal experience are useless when you need help (like you righ now). Run a test on your hard drive if your computer is not booting (AVG Hard Drive Life is only 3 Years). If your hard drive fails the test replace it and restore your information with a SATA to USB cable.
