I had the same issue with my volume button on HTC One M8. HTC would not cover it under warranty. I was able to purchase a new volume rocker from parts4repair.com for only $3.50, however it is still loose and does often fall out at times. It is also quite tricky to get it in there, I have to use a sharp tool to guide it back in. It’s not perfect, but it does the trick.
