Chosen Solution
Hello friends, I accidentally broke the iMac display power cable port (the port on computer side, not the one on the display) and i also broke the display data cable ZIF connector. Now the display power cable port is broken, in the sense of : one of the gold pins jumped off/broked, here is a picture .
as you can see, the first pin has disappeared, only 5 left. When I start the Mac, there is sound but nothing not the screen As I also happened to break data cable ZIF connector, I wonder if only buying a new ZIF connector will resolve my issue. In short terms , can the iMac work without the display power cable port ?
You can use it with an external monitor, otherwise you’ll need someone to solder a new connector on to the board.
