When calling the person on the other end can hardly hear me

I think you’re up for a front-camera & sensor replacement or lightning connector assembly as this contains the microphones. But before you start replacing any parts, first check which one of the microphones is causing trouble. You can do this by using the recorder app to determine which of your microphones is damaged. Simply cover one of the microphones and speak closely to it. (One is in the top speaker grill, the other two are on the bottom in the left and right speaker grill ). If it’s the top microphone that sounds bad, use this guide to help you through the repair: iPhone 7 Plus Front Camera and Sensor Cable. If it’s the bottom microphone that is bad you can first try to clean the speaker mesh which is covering the speaker holes (can be seen in step 53). If cleaning doesn’t help you’ll need to proceed with the replacement of the iPhone 7 Plus Lightning Connector Assembly.
