Chosen Solution I was wondering if there is a way to test the power supply on this particular model. It has two molex connectors, P1 has 6 pins and P2 has 10 pins. Chosen Solution HP Chromebook 14 G4: Power On/Off light on left hand side of unit stays on for 10 seconds, then goes off for 3 seconds continually. Have disconnected battery, still does the same thing. That model is older and the batteries by now are not as good. If the new battery doesn’t fix the issue than the issue is with the board....

Chosen Solution Hello all. I have a 21.5 late 2009 3.06ghz dual core. The gpu is starting to go, as sometimes the screen comes on and then sometimes a black screen. But you still get the boot chime and in the left corner turning the brightness up and down you can see a blurred white light on the screen. Gpu dead… Now there is so much info out there but no one has made a list for this model....
Chosen Solution This is a follow up from the post - from 14 feb — 2-3 second grinding noise on startup I replaced the fan. I think I may have damaged one of the electrical ribbons, so the new fan didn’t work. going to see if shop can fix. But also, still have the grinding noise even though fan didn’t work. Video attached. The hammering noise is outside. That doesn’t sound like a fan issue....

Off the top of my head I would say manually pull hard drive and use another computer (I use a hard drive dock station as long as it is a sata connection and not an ata) to copy documents and media you don’t want to lose....

I connected the home button as normal, and tested the phone out, everything work except the home button. long story short I pulled the home button out of the screen and connected it to the cable as it would be in the phone, just out of the screen, hanging out the side of the phone....

The easiest way is to plug it into your computer and see if iTunes recognizes it. If it does, there is a good chance its just the screen. That’s a cheap and easy way to tell how far the rabbit hole may go....

If you do not have any experience, then the $125 would be the easiest thing to do.
