Chosen Solution I was playing Skyrim and my PS3 froze, this happens once in a while and I can usually manually turn it off to restart it with the power button on the console… but for some reason the power button will not work at all. The eject button works however. Does the Power button only stop responding when you play Skyrim? This video shows a possible solution if you think it’s a hardware issue....

You can try and purchase another one of these (this time with the top cannon but maybe find a broken one) and harvest it from there. Otherwise the only other way I can think off, is to find someone that could do a 3D print for you as a replacement....

Chosen Solution I am pretty sure the Hard Drive is toast. Console will turn on, fan will blow, no overheating, no signal to picture, and after 45 seconds unit will shut off. I am pretty sure it the HDD that has failed. My question is, I see this site has used HHD replacements, but it also says formatted for use with Xbox one S. I can’t tell, does that mean I have to somehow put the Xbox OS back onto this drive, or can I simply, just swap the drive with the one offered on this site, which maintains box os, and it will boot?...

Chosen Solution I had powered Altec Lansing speakers hooked up to my 24" iMac and they worked fine for ~1 year. I recently upgraded my RAM with no difficulty, however afterwards, the headphone jack no longer recognized the presence of the external speakers. The sound preferences panel “output” tab shows “Internal Speakers” and “Built-in Output” regardless of whether the external speakers are plugged in or not. Chosen Solution I got a free AVOL 55” tv that wouldn’t turn on. After taking the power supply out I saw a broken piece I was able to find out to be a voltage reference. Pretty good chance it’s all I need. It’s on a LK-PL55020B power supply. It’s got two sets of identifiers. The first is TL431 and the second set is 0918. I can find a bunch of tl431s for real cheap, but I’m assuming the 0918 is identifying something specific about this type of tl431....

Rebuilding a 13” MacBook Pro (A1278) i5. 500 SSD is fine, 4GB of RAM, board is fine. Installed High Sierra, took forever because internet on WiFi was going in and out. I looked around and saw that the hardware was fine, it was connected with IP oddly. But, the icon on the top bar would be checking for signal every 2 seconds or so....

From the picture of the zoom H6 internal parts, it look like the micro USB port is soldered directly onto the motherboard. However, the company does not manufacture repair/replacement parts. This seems like a difficult fix to me personally, but it doesn’t look impossible. How would one fix this? Chosen Solution I have a strike pack for my controller that I use the paddles for and recently I’ve noticed that it keeps on disconnecting out of no where. When I went to plug it back into see if that would fix it I noticed that my USB ports are very very loose and the cable can’t sit in the port properly for it to connect. I have an automotive one that has a battery and a light bulb. You attach an alligator clip to one part you’re testing and touch the pointy end to another and if the bulb lights up, you have continuity, which is what you’re looking for here....
Chosen Solution I am trying to remove one of the heatsink screw, but unfortunately it has been stripped, and is too stubborn to unscrew too. How do I remove it? You do need to be careful here as the studs are only glued onto the logic board and can easily snapped off! I would first see if some solvent will release the thread lock that’s holding the screws onto stud. Then I would try heat from a heavy duty soldering iron as you need to heat things up quickly and a larger mass iron will do this over a small pencil type....
Chosen Solution I and trying to revive my iPhone and I was wondering how to remove the shroud that covers the A8 chip? Andy Somsak that is an EMI shield and those are soldered. You can try to use a soldering iron to get this removed or use some small scissors to cut it away and solder the rest off. It requires a bit of practice but can be done. Some people prefer a hot air rework gun with a small nozzle to do that....
