Also under the heatsink was there any thermal pads? thanks! Yes, I did end up repasting my laptop. I used Thermal Grizzly Liquid Metal thermal paste and Fujipoly thermal pads. It dropped my temps under load by about 8-10 degrees C. Definitely worth the effort for the performance boost over stock paste and pads....

I would remove that spark plug just as a precaution against any possibility of the engine firing while replacing the belt.
